Our Story
We are a local, modern Korean eatery serving belly-filling bowls to our neighbors in the DFW community. From Seattle to San Francisco and now to Dallas, we have always strived to serve delicious meals to the people around us. Originally from South Korea, we transplanted to the states a few decades ago to put down roots and begin our journey here. We have since grown and are now a mix of Korean, Chinese-Filipino and American; yet regardless of our cultural ancestry, we are all tied together by our shared love of food and all of the meals we share together.
Mokja is a Korean expression for "Let's eat!" and over the years it has almost become a battle cry for our family. In our home, hearing “Mokja!” meant a race to the table to see what delicious meal we would share together next. It is what we say when the food is ready or when we feel like eating something and are inviting another to join us. It’s a moment away from our busy lives to take time to enjoy and make memories with friends and family. What makes the term “mokja” so unique is that it is always inclusive of another person and is a precursor to how food is supposed to be enjoyed: with others.
We are currently operating as a digital kitchen, meaning we only offer pick up and delivery at this time. We hope to find a permanent space soon to offer a dine in option for our guests. We look forward to meeting you in the future. Until then, mokja!
